California SB 277, eliminating personal belief exemptions to vaccinations, will be heard in the Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. in Room 112.  SB 277 was amended and passed out of the Education Committee on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 on a vote of 7y:2n.  The Education Committee heard SB 277 on April 15 but it postponed voting on the bill until April 22 to give Senator Pan more time to address several Senators’ unresolved concerns.  The amended bill now excepts pupils in a home-based private school and students enrolled in an independent study pursuant to specified law from the prohibition described in SB277.  SB 277 passed the Senate Health Committee, 6y:2n, on April 8.  Read the bill and check its status here.  Take Action Here.

Connecticut HB 6949, restricting religious exemptions to vaccination, was substituted in the Joint Committee on Public Health on March 18th.  The current version of the bill still requires exemptions to be notarized, but the section requiring education has been removed.  Read the current bill hereTake Action Here.

Illinois SB 1410, originally severely restricting religious exemptions to vaccination, was amended on the Senate Floor and was passed out of the Senate, 42y:14n, on April 23.  The Senate floor amendment makes it clear that the bill does not give a health care provider grounds to determine a religious exemption but the bill still is mandating health care provider visits and education before using the exemption; read the floor amendment hereAfter the Senate Public Health Committee passed the bill on April 14, 2015 (6 years; 3 nays), the bill received its 2nd and 3rd readings.  Now SB 1410 will head to the IL House.  Read the senate bill here.  Take Action Here.

HB 2560, now different from SB1410, would restrict the religious exemption to vaccination in IL by requiring parents present to the school authority a signed certificate detailing their grounds for objection to the immunization. The grounds for objection must set forth the specific belief that conflicts with the immunization. The certificate must also be signed by the health care provider and submitted every year. Philosophical and moral reluctance are not sufficient for an exemption. The local school authority would decide if the content of the certificate of religious exemption constitutes a valid religious exemption.

Maine LD 606 would eliminate personal belief exemptions to vaccination and was referred to the Health and Human Services Committee on 3/3/2015. Current law allows exemptions because of a person's philosophical beliefs from immunization requirements for students in elementary and secondary schools and postsecondary schools and employees of nursery schools and health care facilities. This bill would remove those exemptions. The bill also directs the Department of Health and Human Services to remove any immunization exemptions because of philosophical beliefs from its rules.  The bill is sponsored by Rep. Ralph Tucker. Read the bill hereTake Action Here.

Minnesota SB 380/HB 393 would eliminate the conscientious belief exemption and replace it with a restricted personal belief exemption.  SF 380 passed the Senate Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, as amended, on March 18 and was read a 2nd time on March 23, 2015.  SF 380 is currently on general orders in the Senate and could be voted on any day.  H.B.393/S.B 380 would require a person to obtain a statement from a physician that provides immunizations verifying that the physician has reviewed with the parent or guardian, or the child if emancipated, information about the risks and benefits of the vaccines that is consistent with information published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Read the bill here.  Here

New Jersey SB 1147, restricting religious exemptions to vaccinations, is still awaiting a Senate floor vote after passing out of committee on March 9.   Both legislative chambers are currently on a budget break and so the earliest the Senate could vote on SB 1147 is May 18; the Assembly’s next voting session is on May 14.   Continue to contact your NJ State Senator and ask them to VOTE NO or ABSTAIN on S1147.  Read the bill hereHere

New Jersey AB 1931, restricting religious exemptions to vaccinations, passed the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee, 9y:1n, on March 16 and is awaiting a full Assembly vote.  Both legislative chambers are currently on a budget break and so the earliest the Assembly could vote on AB 1931 is May 14; the Senate’s next voting session is on May 18.   AB 1931 requires a written statement "explaining how the administration of the vaccine conflicts with the bona fide religious tenets or practices of the student, or the parent or guardian."  As such it requires parents to explain and ultimately justify their deeply held personal and private religious beliefs to the government.  Read the bill hereTake Action Here.

North Carolina SB 346, eliminating the religious exemption to vaccination, died on April 2!  Congratulations North Carolina!  The new law would have added new mandates for school children in NC.  If this passed children would have been required to receive hepatitis A, hepatitis B, rotavirus, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, poliomyelitis, red measles (rubeola) and rubella.(rubeola), rubella, mumps, pneumococcal, influenza, varicella and meningitis vaccines, in addition to any other virus, disease, or condition against which the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends.  Current requirements do not include Hepatitis A, rotavirus, pneumococcal, flu or meningitis vaccines.  Read the bill hereTake Action Here.

Pennsylvania HB 883, a bill to eliminate philosophical belief exemptions from vaccination requirements, was referred to the House Committee on Health on 4/6/2015.  The current exemption law in PA includes an exemption for "on the basis of a strong moral or ethical conviction" in addition to religious beliefs.  Read the bill here.  Take Action Here.

Rhode Island SB 381 would eliminate religious exemptions to vaccination requirements A hearing was held on SB 381 on 3/26/15 by the Senate Health and Human Services.  The current status of the bill is that it is being held in committee for further study.  Continue to contact members of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee and your own State Senator and ask them to oppose SB 381.  Read the bill hereTake Action Here.

Texas HB 2006, a bill that would repeal conscientious and religious exemptions to vaccinations, was referred to the Public Health Committee on March 11.  Read the bill hereTake Action Here.

Vermont HB 98 would eliminate philosophical belief exemptions to vaccination.  On April 22, the Vermont Senate approved an amendment on HB 98 to remove the philosophical exemption to vaccination 18y:11n and then passed the bill out of the Senate on Third Reading by vocal majority (no roll call taken).  Read the bill hereTake Action Here.

Vitamin D status linked to mental functioning and mood among patients with psychosis

Vitamin D status linked to mental functioning and mood among patients with psychosis

http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/vitamin-d-news/vitamin-d-status-linked-to-mental-functioning-and-mood-among-patients-with-psychosis/?mc_cid=94dbe9018b&mc_eid=ec1651b17f

New research presented at the 15th International Congress on Schizophrenia Research (ICOSR) found that low vitamin D levels in first-onset psychosis is associated with function and mood one year later.

Psychosis refers to an abnormal condition of the mind in which one loses contact with reality. People who experience psychosis may have hallucinations or delusions. There are many different causes of psychosis, including drugs, dementia, stroke, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.

Case control studies have found that patients with psychosis have lower vitamin D levels than healthy adults. However, whether low vitamin D levels affect the signs and symptoms of the disease is unknown.

Researchers recently evaluated vitamin D levels of 166 patients at first onset of psychosis and again 12 months later to further our understanding of vitamin D’s role in psychosis.

The average vitamin D status was 13.64 ng/ml and only 18.7% of the patients were considered vitamin D sufficient (greater than 20 ng/ml).

The researchers assessed the symptoms of psychosis one year later with the Global Assessment of Functioning (GAF), the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and the Calgary Depression Scale for Schizophrenia (CDSS). GAF is a scale that rates the social, occupational, and psychological functioning of adults. PANSS measures the symptom severity of patients with schizophrenia. CDSS is a structured interview tool used to assess depression in people suffering from schizophrenia.

The researchers found that low vitamin D levels correlated significantly with lower overall GAF scores (p = 0.02), poorer function (p = 0.05), quality of life scores (p = 0.02) and PANSS scores (p = 0.03).

The researchers concluded,

“The idea of vitamin D as potentially neuroprotective in psychosis deserves exploration.”

Should Adults Receive the Pneumococcal Vaccine? NO WAY!

Should Adults Receive the Pneumococcal Vaccine? NO WAY!

By Dr. David Brownstein
http://blog.drbrownstein.com/should-adults-receive-the-pneumococcal-vaccine-no-way/

I am frequently asked by my adult patients if they should get the pneumococcal vaccine. If you want the short answer, I can give it here: NO WAY!

Let me explain.

An article in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA—February 17, 2015, volume 313, N. 7) reported on the new guidelines which advise doctors to recommend two pneumococcal vaccines in adults. The recommendations state that “…adults 65 years or older should receive one dose of the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) followed by a dose of the 23-valnet pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23) 6 to 12 months later.” After reading that, you would assume that the two vaccines have been shown to be effective at preventing pneumococcal-associated illnesses and death from pneumonia. But, you would think wrong as the vaccines fail over 99% who take them.

As reported in the JAMA article, Stretococcus pneumoniae is a common cause of respiratory tract infection and community acquired pneumonia (CAP). In 2012, there were 31,600 cases of pneumococcal infection and 3,300 related deaths in the U.S. The highest rates of infection are among children and adults aged 65 years and older. The PPSV23 vaccine was licensed in the U.S. in 1983. According to a 2013 meta-analysis, there is no consistent evidence that the PPSV23 vaccine is associated with reduced rates of all-cause pneumonia or all-cause mortality.

In September, 2014, the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices, a governmental committee recommended that the PCV13 vaccination be given to all adults 65 years and older. (1) In 2011, the FDA approved PCV13 for adults aged 50 years and older.   These recommendations were based, somewhat, on a yet-to-be published trial—CAPITA. (NOTE: CAPITA was funded by Big Pharma founding member Pfizer. Guess who makes PCV13—if you guess Pfizer, you win.) This trial randomized 84,496 persons aged 65 years and older to a single dose of PCV13 or placebo. The primary endpoint was the prevention of a first episode of vaccine-type pneumococcal CAP. In the JAMA article, the author states that the vaccine was 45% effective at preventing the first episode of pneumococcal illness. Sounds good, right? However, this is a relative risk number. As I explained in detail in my new book, The Statin Disaster, Big Pharm uses the relative risk statistic to make a mediocre therapy appear better than it is. It is important to note that nobody, physician and patient alike, should be making medical decisions based on relative risk numbers.

A more accurate interpretation of a study is to use the absolute risk difference between the placebo and the treatment groups.   Once the absolute risk difference is calculated, it is easy to figure out how many need to be treated—or in this case vaccinated—to prevent one event. The full data from CAPITA has not been released yet, so I cannot state what the more-accurate absolute risk difference and the number-needed-to treat with PCV 13 would be. I find it astonishing that the relative risk numbers were released before all the data was made available.

Let’s go back to the JAMA article. The author states, “At this point, the potential effect of the vaccine (PCV13) can only be inferred.” Hmmmm. Only inferred, yet the new guidelines already recommend every adult over the age of 50 should receive it. We must be in Wonderland, with Alice, where down is up and up is down.

The JAMA article continues, “Based on the immunogenicity studies and CAPITA, one model estimates that {the number needed to vaccinate was 27,800}.” That means, to prevent one case of invasive pneumococcal disease, you need to vaccinate 27,800 subjects. In other words, the vaccine failed 99.99% of the subjects who received it (27,799/27,800). To prevent community acquired pneumonia, the number-needed to vaccinate was 1,620. At least the numbers are better here—the vaccine only failed 99.94% of those who took it (1,619/1,620). The JAMA article summarized these findings by stating, “This (new) guideline can be implemented broadly in a variety of settings.”

Wow. So, the FDA recommends every adult receive a vaccine that fails 99.9% of those who receive it. I did not even mention that the pneumococcal vaccines contain aluminum and phenol which have never been shown to be safe when injected into the human body. In fact, aluminum and phenol should never be injected into any living being.

Folks, this story should not be surprising. We all know the FDA and CDC are bought and sold by Big Pharma.

What is surprising is why so many doctors follow idiotic guidelines.

Has Mercury Caused One of the Worst Health Crises in American History?

During the past 20 years, the frequency of autism occurring in children has skyrocketed from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 68, and the scientific community is no closer to determining a cause. Trace Amounts is the true story of Eric Gladen’s painful journey through mercury poisoning that he believes resulted from a thimerosal-loaded tetanus shot. His discoveries led him on a quest for the scientific truth about the role of mercury poisoning in the Autism epidemic.

Trace Amounts is an investigative documentary exploring the link between the mercury based preservative thimerosal and the autism epidemic. The film further explores the alarming rate that the world population is being exposed to mercury through industrial emissions and the unsafe use and disposal of dental silver fillings and florescent light bulbs.

“This is a must-see film. There is no doubt in my mind that mercury is a major contributing factor in the autism epidemic.”

CALIFORNIANS ON THIS LIST AGAINST SB277 - get involved and send your email or call the Senators on the Education Committee members today!

Email or call all Senators on the Education Committee with opposition to SB277 and do it by 4/14.  The vote is 4/15.

List below!

This issue is incredibly big morally and medically – please help fight on behalf of vaccine injured children and to protect your own children and future children…and yourself.

Now it is about Mandatory vaccines for children to be in school….then come for adults in the work place….it's all headed our way in this State unless we say NO, not now and keep saying no in the future when more bills get introduced, like they just did in Oregon.

_________________________________________________________

Stop this bill in CA

On Wednesday April 15 a hearing in California before the Senate Education Committee will listen to arguments for and against Senate Bill 277. Senators will then vote to pass along the bill or kill it. This bill will take away all personal exemptions for any childhood vaccines, the personal choice for parents to avoid a vaccine they think is unnecessary or dangerous or a vaccine that has previously caused a bad reaction in their child.

This hearing could be the last chance to stop this bill becoming law in California. Six members of the Committee are undecided. Please contact their offices with a phone call and/or an email voicing your opposition to SB 277.

A threat to personal health freedoms

Six states have already rejected similar bills because of the strong opposition of citizens that choose to retain personal freedoms. This is just the first of many measures to force medications on the population. There are already plans to require vaccines for adults as well as children. If you value your ability to make personal choices about your own body and medical treatment you choose for yourself, make the call.

Cost of this bill

This bill could result in the loss of more than one billion dollars of state funds for schools when parents are forced to remove their children from school.

It could cost the state as much as eight billion dollars to prosecute parents who continue to defy the law and refuse vaccinations.

And it could result in the loss of 900 million dollars in tax revenues for the state if parents choose to leave California rather than submit to this invasive law that removes their personal and legitimate right of free choice.

Please contact these Senate Education Committee members on Monday or Tuesday and voice your opposition to SB 277.

Spain now suing the Gardasil manufacturer

Spain now suing the Gardasil manufacturer

This complaint states that Merck Laboratories FAILED to use an inert placebo during clinical trials, thereby manipulating data and marketing Gardasil under FALSE pretenses. The complaint goes on to say both national and local health authorities had adequate knowledge regarding the potential harmful effects of Gardasil and chose to recommend administration of the HPV vaccine anyway. The complaint alleges this showed an absolute disregard for the health and well-being of young Spanish girls.

Vitamin D RDA Too Low, by Ten Fold

Vitamin D RDA Too Low, by Ten Fold

http://todayspractitioner.com/immune-health/vitamin-d-rda-too-low-by-ten-fold/

March 26, 2015

A calculation error may have skewed the vitamin D recommendations by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS),  Institute of Medicine (IOM). They are far too low, by a factor of ten, say researchers at UC San Diego and Creighton University. Researchers submitted a letter of challenge, published in the journal Nutrients, which confirmed a calculation error that was also noted by other investigators using a data set from a different population.

Dr. Cedric F. Garland, Dr.P.H., adjunct professor at UC San Diego’s Department of Family Medicine and Public Health said his group confirmed findings published by Dr. Paul Veugelers from the University of Alberta School of Public Health, which were reported last October in the same journal.

“Both these studies suggest that the IOM underestimated the requirement substantially,” said Garland. “The error has broad implications for public health regarding disease prevention and achieving the stated goal of ensuring that the whole population has enough vitamin D to maintain bone health.”

The recommended intake of vitamin D specified by the IOM is 600 IU/day through age 70 years, and 800 IU/day for older ages. “Calculations by us and other researchers have shown that these doses are only about one-tenth those needed to cut incidence of diseases related to vitamin D deficiency,” Garland explained.

Robert Heaney, M.D., of Creighton University, wrote: “We call for the NAS-IOM and all public health authorities concerned with transmitting accurate nutritional information to the public to designate, as the RDA, a value of approximately 7,000 IU/day from all sources.” Garland noted, “This intake is well below the upper level intake specified by IOM as safe for teens and adults, 10,000 IU/day.”

Stanford Scientist Proving DNA Fragments In Vaccines Cause Autism

Stanford Scientist Proving DNA Fragments In Vaccines Cause Autism
http://edgytruth.com/2015/04/01/stanford-scientist-proving-dna-fragments-in-vaccines-cause-autism-great-read/

Saying vaccines cause autism these days brings forth a great many passionate debates. Pro-vaxxers have launched Government and Celebrity funded campaigns to make sure that no one out there ever even considers the idea, no matter how much evidence is put forth. But that hasn’t stopped everyone from keeping up the good fight to keep vaccines and Big Pharma honest.

Dr. Theresa Deisher, a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Physiology from Stanford University, the first person to discover adult cardiac derived stem cells, determined that residual human fetal DNA fragments in vaccines may be one of the causes of autism in children through vaccination.

“It is possible that these contaminating fragments could be incorporated into a child’s genome and disrupt normal gene function, leading to autistic phenotypes.”

You can read the full study HERE.

Of course, Deisher’s credentials are no joke at all, you can check them out right here.  She has over 19 years in commercial biotechnology, but no matter, because the social movements bullying anti-vaxxer movements won’t concern themselves with credentials or experience in the field or actual studies. Instead they will disregard, contact Jimmy Kimmel and Penn and Teller and have a celebrity video created in response.

Our children are at risk from social incompetence. We can change this. We have the power. When we have actual scientist with years upon years of experience and achievements trying to tell us what is happening then we need to listen. Unfortunately this will fall mostly on deaf ears.

In 10 years, the annual cost will be $200-400 billion. (Autism Society estimate)

Cost of lifelong care can be reduced by 2/3 with early diagnosis and intervention. (Autism Society estimate based on Government Accounting Office Report on Autism, 2006)

1 percent of the adult population of the United Kingdom has autism spectrum disorder. (Brugha T.S. et al., 2011)

The U.S. cost of autism over the lifespan is about $2.4 million for a person with an intellectual disability, or $1.4 million for a person without intellectual disability. (Buescher et al., 2014)

35 percent of young adults (ages 19-23) with autism have not had a job or received postgraduate education after leaving high school. (Shattuck et al., 2012)

It costs more than $8,600 extra per year to educate a student with autism. (Lavelle et al., 2014) (The average cost of educating a student is about $12,000 – NCES, 2014)

In June 2014, only 19.3 percent of people with disabilities in the U.S. were participating in the labor force – working or seeking work. Of those, 12.9 percent were unemployed, meaning only 16.8 percent of the population with disabilities was employed. (By contrast, 69.3 percent of people without disabilities were in the labor force, and 65 percent of the population without disabilities was employed.) (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2014)

A concerned citizen has launched a popular petition on the official White House website seeking a moratorium on legislation that may force Americans to obtain vaccinations.

The all-inclusive petition entitled, Prohibit Any Laws Mandating the Force and Requirement of Vaccinations of Any Kind,” appeared on the “We the People” site earlier this month, and has already managed to garner some 34 thousand signatures.

“No human being should be FORCED to be vaccinated against their will and/or personal/religious beliefs,” reads the petition’s text.

“I petition against making vaccinations of any kind mandatory. This includes forcing children to be vaccinated to attend public schools, activities, and daycare centers. This also includes adults working in the public or private sector.”

The appeal is a response to the wave of vaccine hysteria that swept the nation following the highly-publicized Disneyland measles outbreak, which affected up to nine people who had allegedly contracted the disease via visitors from foreign countries.

Little reported, of course, was the fact that of those nine people, five had been vaccinated, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The “Mickey Mouse measles” fear campaign led to neurotic calls for anti-vaccination parents to be jailed, while lawmakers from such states as California and Washington floated legislation to do away with personal vaccine exemptions, regardless of religious or moral objections.

Even the president embodied the role of health czar and has begun prescribing wellness recommendations, urging the public to “get your kids vaccinated,” because “It’s good for them.”

The petition still needs just over 65 thousand signatures by March 6 to necessitate a White House response, but the fact it has already received tens of thousands of unique signatures in such a short time frame shows many Americans don’t take too kindly to being ordered to inject themselves with chemical cocktails.

Even if the petition meets its target, however, federal legislation won’t necessarily be forthcoming.

As we’ve seen in the past, petitioners’ concerns are typically answered with glib statements explaining why signatories’ demands won’t be upheld.

The White House is also prone to ignoring petitions that cross the threshold, and has even tried to tamp down on the number of successful petitions by raising the target signature goal from 20,000 to 100,000.

Despite health authorities’ claims that vaccines are safe and effective, the MMR vaccine insert itself lists a number of potential adverse reactions, ranging in severity from a mild fever, to seizures and brain inflammation, to death.

A federal program known as the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) receives up to 20,000 reports regarding vaccine damage per year, and the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program has also reportedly awarded over $3 billion to families since its inception.

As we reported last week, two people in Washington state also contracted the mumps virus after receiving the MMR vaccine, further fueling vaccine skepticism.

In reality, a government that insists on medicating its citizens against their will is more of a threat to the people than any virus or vaccine

“This debate shouldn’t be about the efficacy of vaccines, or the dangers of vaccines,” expressed Infowars’ Paul Joseph Watson. “What it should be about is the chilling precedent being set by both the left and the right… that it now should be completely accepted without question that the government has the right to forcibly mass medicate anyone against their will.”
