A concerned citizen has launched a popular petition on the official White House website seeking a moratorium on legislation that may force Americans to obtain vaccinations.

The all-inclusive petition entitled, Prohibit Any Laws Mandating the Force and Requirement of Vaccinations of Any Kind,” appeared on the “We the People” site earlier this month, and has already managed to garner some 34 thousand signatures.

“No human being should be FORCED to be vaccinated against their will and/or personal/religious beliefs,” reads the petition’s text.

“I petition against making vaccinations of any kind mandatory. This includes forcing children to be vaccinated to attend public schools, activities, and daycare centers. This also includes adults working in the public or private sector.”

The appeal is a response to the wave of vaccine hysteria that swept the nation following the highly-publicized Disneyland measles outbreak, which affected up to nine people who had allegedly contracted the disease via visitors from foreign countries.

Little reported, of course, was the fact that of those nine people, five had been vaccinated, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The “Mickey Mouse measles” fear campaign led to neurotic calls for anti-vaccination parents to be jailed, while lawmakers from such states as California and Washington floated legislation to do away with personal vaccine exemptions, regardless of religious or moral objections.

Even the president embodied the role of health czar and has begun prescribing wellness recommendations, urging the public to “get your kids vaccinated,” because “It’s good for them.”

The petition still needs just over 65 thousand signatures by March 6 to necessitate a White House response, but the fact it has already received tens of thousands of unique signatures in such a short time frame shows many Americans don’t take too kindly to being ordered to inject themselves with chemical cocktails.

Even if the petition meets its target, however, federal legislation won’t necessarily be forthcoming.

As we’ve seen in the past, petitioners’ concerns are typically answered with glib statements explaining why signatories’ demands won’t be upheld.

The White House is also prone to ignoring petitions that cross the threshold, and has even tried to tamp down on the number of successful petitions by raising the target signature goal from 20,000 to 100,000.

Despite health authorities’ claims that vaccines are safe and effective, the MMR vaccine insert itself lists a number of potential adverse reactions, ranging in severity from a mild fever, to seizures and brain inflammation, to death.

A federal program known as the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) receives up to 20,000 reports regarding vaccine damage per year, and the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program has also reportedly awarded over $3 billion to families since its inception.

As we reported last week, two people in Washington state also contracted the mumps virus after receiving the MMR vaccine, further fueling vaccine skepticism.

In reality, a government that insists on medicating its citizens against their will is more of a threat to the people than any virus or vaccine

“This debate shouldn’t be about the efficacy of vaccines, or the dangers of vaccines,” expressed Infowars’ Paul Joseph Watson. “What it should be about is the chilling precedent being set by both the left and the right… that it now should be completely accepted without question that the government has the right to forcibly mass medicate anyone against their will.”
